Worship
While it is true that worship is a state of heart that should exist all of the time we do however meet to worship together. This adds a wonderful dimension to worship and is supported by those who have a specific ministry of support in this area,
Some of the ministry teams that contribute to worship are music teams, worship leaders, creative - drama, puppets etc., sound and data.
We really appreciate those who serve in these ministries and encourage those who have a passion for this to get involved.
Teams
We believe there is benefit in working together as a team and therefore have a number of teams involved in a variety of ministries.
The teams include Elders, Ministry Development, Finance, Music, Creative Ministries, Sound & Data, Children's Ministries teams and that's not all...
We encourage everyone to be involved in a ministry team according to their giftings and abilities.
Small Groups
IPods is for year 7 & 8 youth.
We think small group meetings are a great way to develop friendships, support one another and to grow together in Jesus Christ.
The groups meet mostly on Wednesday nights but some operate at other times. The styles vary, they are informal and seek to be relevant to our lives.
You can find help from the office to find a group that is right for you.
Study
For those who want to spend time in serious in depth Bible study there are programs available.
There is an in depth Bible study open to everyone and a study specifically for ladies.
PERSONAL STUDY: We hope every church member is active in personal Bible study and help is available if you need it.
Prayer
We believe in a God of all power who answers prayer and who guides our activities in response to prayer - so we pray both individually and together.
On Friday night a number gather at the church to pray.
Prayer is very much a part of small group meetings, each ministry team that meets at other times and is a special focus of the elder's meetings.
A confidential prayer chain also operates to meet urgent needs.
Young @ Heart
Young at Heart is for those 55 years and over.
We meet in the church cafe once every second month on the first Tuesday and share lunch together. Often someone will be invited to give a short talk.
This is a great time of fellowship together with lots of people attending. 55 or over? Then please join us - further details available at the office.
Local
Local mission takes on a wide range of shapes. There are many ways in which we seek to demonstrate the love of Christ to others in our local town community. We want people in our town to realise that they are not alone and that we would love to help if we can.
One of the areas we have a passion for is youth. Have a look at the Youth page on this web site to get an idea of the programs we offer for youth.
From time to time we offer special support courses for the community which may range from family support, marriage courses and specific courses for those wanting to know more about what it means to follow Jesus Christ.
Totara Springs
Totara Springs is a large facility operating just outside the town. The camp was established through the vision and efforts of some of the Open Brethren churches in the Waikato area, including Matamata Bible Church.
We have had a long association with the camp and are grateful to God for the tremendous work we see going on there especially among the children.
You can access the Totara Springs web site at https://www.totarasprings.org.nz/
National
We have supported various New Zealand wide mission efforts.
Presently our main area of support is Mobile Mission Maintenance (MMM). MMM provide support for building projects here in New Zealand and in some areas overseas.
World
We are a group of people who have a genuine concern for world missions through financial or practical support.
Currently we are partnering with others to support a missionary family overseas and it has been exciting to hear how they have been making a difference in people's lives.
A number of short term projects have been completed at Fiji with opportunity for others to take part in the future.
